Experience Swahili Culture of Zanzibar & Jambiani Village
We at Villa Bahati have a long established bond with the villagers of Jambiani. A cultural and ecological sensitive tourism programme was established with the local NGO eco+culture, as far back as 1999 with the help of an Austrian funded development project.
Experience Maasai Culture
Young Maasai warriors are a common sight now on the sea shores of Zanzibar where they seasonally migrate during the tourism season to earn an income, selling Maasai handicrafts, beadwork and sandals adorned with beads or made of car tyres.

Austrian Management
The owners and managers of the Villas Susanne Nebel and her daughter Naomi are the founder of the local NGO “Eco and Culture Tours", which promotes sustainable and culture-friendly tourism on the island since 1997.
Safi Sana - Handmade in Zanzibar
Villa Bahatis social projects include the female sewing cooperative Safi Sana Handmade in Zanzibar. By choosing Safi Sana, you contribute to the empowerment of local women. The cooperative uses African colourful textiles for producing home textiles, bags, and fashion contributing to economic independence and preserving cultural craftsmanship. Feel good about your home design and fashion choices!
